Recent News    (updated 7 June, 2010)

The Trust has now been running for over seven years, and has distributed around £125,000 in grants to a wide variety of projects.  Its life was always planned to be around 5 years, and having distributed almost all the money at our disposal, the Trustees will wind up the Trust during the summer.

A concert celebrating the achievements of the Trust was held in St Mary’s church South Woodford in March 2010, and an eclectic collection of performances by some of our grant holders made for a hugely enjoyable afternoon.  As always, the remarkable Kaos Choir under Ali and Suzy gave us an irresistible performance; we also saw the achievements of the ColourStrings group from Cranbrook Primary School led by Karen, joined in an instant percussion-from-scratch performance with Rhythmically Speaking led by Mark, helped Luke create a musical story on his bassoon and heard a number of the children whose music lessons we have funded play their instruments.  It was a great occasion!

However, it wasn’t our last concert.  Also in March, Danielle Salamon gave a much appreciated piano recital for the Trust to a capacity audience, in the beautiful setting of the music room at Burgh House.  It raised £500 for Trust funds.  And there is another, very final, concert at the end of June - for details, see the Trust Events page.
